Over the last few years I have taken some serious looks at the mentality of "the masses" within a couple of "popular" arena's. And in analyzing things I can do nothing but shake my head and wonder just what the heck has happened.
Follow up:
I am by far not an "internet guru". I do not make huge amounts of money on line nor do I spend hundreds of dollars a month trying to. I do, however make a small amount regularly and for now, that is sufficient. I have been involved in internet activities for a long time. Some days, I find myself wondering just why I even bother any more.
PTR (paid to read), where you receive emails for a minimal amount of money for clicking the links, has become something quite different than what it used to be. It has become strife with greed mongering on both sides of the fence. Program owners are looking for an extra revenue source, as are the members of these programs. Where the problem lies is that for the majority, they are doing nothing more than passing the buck from one program to the next. It is a virtual feeding frenzy between programs. Advertising across these programs is nothing more than another program. And in the end, any "real product/service" advertising is lost in the shuffle to get as many clicks in, in as short a time as possible.
Almost all programs out there, have a no bot rule. Yet, the majority of ptr sites have done nothing more than create bots by another means. Human click bots populate these sites like flies to manure. They spend hours a day clicking hundreds of emails and/or ptc advertisements for mere hundredths of a cent per click. These same people also shout to the mountain tops at how great these programs are.
Greatness is a subjective opinion, I'm afraid. The only greatness is the number of members populating some of these sites or the amount of emails they receive, or for that matter the amount of worthless drivel that crosses the screen. It appears that greatness is now a descriptive term used for programs which have a grand in members, who send a hundred emails a day or more with sometimes upwards of ten links per email. With the majority of these links being in the hundredths of cent range for clicks. How is this greatness. But wait, would that be the descriptive to be used for the owner who perhaps pays within moments of request? More than likely.
I often wonder how some of these owners can honestly claim they have a life. If a site has a grand in members and that owner pays within moments of request, when are they off their computers? When are they spending time with the ones they love? I mean even brick and mortar business's close for a time each day. Or if nothing else, the owners go home for the night and supervisors keep order. I am truly baffled by this.
Analyzing the clicks and true money earned for many of these sites, I have found something which it didn't take rocket science to figure out. Regardless the math has been done and I still can not figure out how so many think they are making so much.
For example, one program sends a minimum of 60 emails a day. Ten of those emails contain 10 links in them. That is 100 links in just those ten emails. Now there is a 12 second timer on each of those links. That totals 20 minutes of clicking for just those ten emails. Each of those 100 links is worth .0002 cents per click. That totals a whopping 2¢ earned for 100 clicks and 20 minutes of click time. Yes, you read that right. 2¢ (2 cents) earned for 100 clicks and 20 minutes total. Now with this being the truth of many programs, I find myself very befuddled as to just how so many are finding these "great" programs so great.
Just where is the greatness in spending 20 minutes to earn 2 cents in earnings? Why are members so content to spend hours a day to click these links to earn less than ever? I truly can say, I do not understand. I remember a day when link values of this nature would never have been tolerated. Yet today it is more than tolerated, it is raved about. I just do not get it, and with the masses of excuses running a muck, I am afraid I do not want to even attempt understanding this new breed of greed. I say greed because it is the only thing I can come up with. Nothing else makes sense. It sure isn't paying any bills that's for sure.
