Shait still missing
By Kimberly on Dec 18, 2009 | In Shait | Send feedback »
Spent yesterday filing reports with everyone we could think of.
Walked the area repeatedly. No one has seen her. A lot just doesn't make sense. I think things and feel them but just can not believe any of it.
We have a live trap set. We have food and water out and a box shelter. We will not stop until we know something definite.
Her search will become our daily routine. It is just that simple.
Shait is Missing
By Kimberly on Dec 16, 2009 | In Shait | Send feedback »
Shait has gone missing. It looks as though she went out through the dryer vent.
Her picture is in the upper right corner of the header image. This is the only picture I have right now.
Shait is 2 years old, but looks like a kitten.
She is half feral. She does NOT like to be held. If trapped she may try to hurt herself to get out.
She has never been outside until now. It is freezing out, we hope she has found a hole to crawl into to stay warm.
She is not the best hunter.
Please if anyone even sees her, please contact us.
An Abby Update

Well it is going on two weeks that Abby came to stay with us.
The first few days were touch and go. She hid a lot and did not want much petting or attention in any form.
At about day three, she decided that it was ok to be here again and started wanting the attention directed towards her. This was also the day we were able to put a belled collar on her so we can know where she is. Not that it is doing much good, she keeps pretty silent.
There are times, however, where I will hear the constant tinkling of her bell. Curious, I decided to sneak up to watch. She is not trying to take the collar off, on the contrary, she is batting the bell itself and making noise. Not sure, but think she likes the sound of it.
She loves a good stroking and scratching. She also is quite playful when she has a mind to be.
Her and I have come to an impasse where the counters are concerned. She is what I would call a Hi-Kitty. Where she likes high ground and is only on the floor when it is absolutely necessary. Thus being the case, her and I have come to an agreement. She goes where she will, but she leaves all bread and stuff left out alone. This so far is working and she is proving that she will do as I ask if I give concessions where able. She has yet to touch the bread loaves or bagged items on the counter and is real careful about leaving hair. For those who are saying "gross", be at ease, I do wash the counters before I use them.
Concessions are being made right now because of Abby's past. Through consistency and a little training, we will once again be kitty counter free. But until Abby is completely comfortable again in these surroundings and knows this is it, she is not being transferred again, we will do what we must to work around quirks.
Over all, Miss Abby is settling in quite nicely and is starting to accept this as home.

We have a new arrival coming Sunday. Her name is Abigale, Abby for short.
We have sat her on a couple other occasions, but do to some issues with her owner, she will be finding a permanent residence with us come Sunday.
She is a sweet girl, who loves to play. We look forward to having her in our home.
